Economy and policy
According to Livemint, the IMF raised India's FY27 growth forecast by 60 bps to 7% on strong domestic demand. Meanwhile, Business Standard reported that India's retail inflation jumped to 5.54% in September, increasing pressure for further RBI tightening.
As reported by Fortune India, after the RBI and World Bank, the IMF also expects the economy to grow at 7% in FY27. Business Standard stated that Fitch Solutions company BMI raised its FY27 growth forecast for India to 7.5%.
Companies and earnings
Kalkine India reported that Nykaa's Q1 FY27 revenue was up 29% with an EBITDA margin at 8.5%, while Womancart reported Q1 FY27 revenue up 52% and profit up 75.7%.
Moneycontrol.com listed stocks to watch today including HCL Technologies, RBL Bank, Bank of India, Plastiblends, and Ircon International. CNBC TV18 reported that the NSE will remove Polycab India from the F&O Segment from December 30.
Global cues
Business Standard stated that gold and silver prices traded lower on the MCX as a firm dollar weighed on bullion. The Economic Times reported that gold prices rose to Rs 1.50 lakh/10g while silver gained ahead of US economic data.
The Economic Times also noted that global Asian shares slid as chip stocks tumbled while investors eyed US earnings and CPI. Investing.com India reported that gold prices were muted amid a firmer dollar and rising oil, ahead of CPI this week.
IPOs
The Economic Times reported that Triveni Power Transmission listed on the BSE and NSE following a demerger. Fortune India noted that the HD Fire Protect IPO was subscribed 1.72 times on Day 1.
HDFC Sky provided details regarding the Bonfiglioli Transmissions IPO date, lot size, and price, as well as information on the Tonbo Imaging India IPO.
